Read Time:1 Minute, 6 Second

After a little vacation and some bouts of back pain it was time to finally paint up my computer panel, which obviously must start with prep work.

prep

I started by mixing some basic white and black with some medium so I had a fairly smooth base layer that would be fairly easy to paint over with thicker paint if the need arises (spoiler it did). After I got that mixed up I started laying down the black shadows.

Laying the foundation

After finishing the background I went on to mostly finish the malone, including shadow. I did save the mustache for last, that is too good do at the start.

Mostly malone

From there I worked more on the lamp, which is mostly a suggestion of a lamp via reflected light. I did experiment by putting a glob of white paint in the middle and then smearing it up and down to make the light. This mostly worked well, although I did have to remake the central light after all of the smearing.

Light Fun

Last but not least, the mustache. I took extra care with the mustache and highlights to give it the 3D effects it deserves.

Finishing with the mustache

And then all together. The resulting piece had a fairly gothic vibe to it but I really like how it turned out. The cellphone quality does not do it justice.
