With the painted panel done it was time for my next project. I was looking at some of my cameras that I have not used in a long time (two are broken and film is a pain to shoot). I wanted to get them off my currently cluttered coffee table and I came up with the idea to mount them as art pieces.
I went through multiple stages of design and arrived at the following design. A set of wooden 1×2 pieces glued together, like a cutting board. These should become a 9×9 square that I would then mount the cameras too, using some 1/4" bolts.
As this would look plain I have a plan to stain them red and then seal them with some glossy art resin.
This all starts with cutting some wood. I have six 1x2s that are six feet long, which with tolerances means I have enough pieces to make seven of these frames. I also have 6 offcuts that are not the right size but will be useful when I start experimenting with stains.
Needless to say my back is sore after all of this cutting.
Tostitos??
